PROVIDENCE, R.I.  –  The Dartmouth women’s swimming and diving team sits in eighth place after the first day of the Ivy League Championship, hosted by Brown.

The Big Green posted a pair of sixth-place finishes on the day. In the 200-Free Relay, the team of Kendese Nangle, Mary Van Metre, Siobhan Hengemuhle and Charlotte Kamai claimed sixth in 1:32.84, two seconds behind a quartet from Princeton. Also, Danielle Kerr took sixth in the 500 Free in 4:15.67. Christine Kerr finished eighth in the same race in 4:56.08.

Van Metre took eighth in the 50 Free in 23.28, but she narrowly missed out on sixth place with just four-hundredths of a second separating her and that spot. Nangle finished 14th overall and sixth in the “B” Final.

On the diving board, Katy Feng finished 10th with 237.05 points and second in the “B” Final.

The second day of the Ivy League Championship will begin tomorrow (Friday) at 11 a.m.
