The Dartmouth College women's swimming and diving team travels to DeNunzio Pool for the 2013 Ivy League Championships this week. The three-day meet begins on Thursday (Feb. 28) and runs through Saturday (March 2). Preliminary competition begins at 11 a.m. each day and finals will start at 6 p.m.

Big Green Ready For Ivy League Championship -
The Big Green enter the Ivy League Championships with a 10-6 dual meet record and won 10 dual meets for the third consecutive season. Dartmouth had a string of non-conference wins against Vermont, New Hampshire and UConn and picked up a conference win over Cornell. Dartmouth is seeking to improve on last season's fifth-place finish. It was the Big Green's first top five finish since 1981. The Big Green's best finish is third place at the 1977 and 1978 championships.

Dartmouth Announces Ivy League Squad - The Big Green will be sending a contingent of 17 female swimmers to the Ivy League Championships. The swimmers include: Charlotte Williams (Boca Raton, Fla.), Kendall Farnham (Severna Park, Md.), Erin Henn (Lawrenceville, N.J.), Christine Kerr (Gainesville, Fla.), Danielle Kerr (Gainesville, Fla.), Mary Van Metre (Edina, Minn.), Natalia Vecerek (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.), Sasha Alcon (Fremont, Calif.), Rebecca Butler (West Orange, N.J.), Siobhan Hengemuhle (Boulder, Colo.), Valerie Orellana (Artleta, Calif.), Emily Holt (Louisville, Ky.), Charlotte Kamai (Corte Madera, Calif.), Kendese Nangle (Kingston, Jamaica), Olivia Samson (Clifton, N.Y.), Koryn Ternes (Austin, Texas) and Maddie Wall (St. Louis, Mo.). The Big Green will also send three divers: Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.), Katy Feng (Westfield, Mass.) and Madison McClenney (The Woodland, Texas)

A Look Back at the 2012 Ivy League Championship  - Dartmouth finished in fifth place in the standings, its best finish since 1981 when they also placed fifth. The Big Green set six new school records and some of the highlights included runner up finishes from Charlotte Williams (Boca Raton, Fla.) in the 200 breaststroke while Christine Kerr (Gainesville, Fla.) took third place in the 200 free. Divers Katy Feng (Westfield, Mass.) and Erica Serpico (Mooretown, N.J.) also placed ninth and 10th on the 3-meter.

Serpico Looks For Another Diving Title  - Senior diver Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.) won the 2010 Ivy League Championship on the 1-meter and after taking last season off, she's looking to close out her career with another Ivy League title. During the regular season, Serpico swept the diving competition against Vermont and Yale/Penn, while taking the 1-meter title against New Hampshire.

Big Green Youngsters Looking To Contribute - Of the 17 swimmers that will be participating at the Ivy Championships, 10 of them are underclassmen with six rookies making their first appearance at the championship. The four sophomores each also participated as freshmen last season. It's a youth movement!

Welcome Aboard!  - The swimming and diving programs welcome a total of 20 freshmen to the men's and women's swimming and diving teams for 2012-13. The freshmen feature four internationals and talent from across the U.S. Joining the men's team are 10 new faces in Aaron Athanas (Beverly, Mass.), Logan Briggs (Issaquah, Wash.), Daniel Chen (Lake Oswego, Ore.), Brett Gillis (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada), Matthew Ginsburg (Scarsdale, N.Y.), Joseph Kind (San Francisco, Calif.), Jake Lee (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.), Jun Oh (Andover, Mass.), James Verhagen (Randberg, South Africa) and Daniel Whitcomb (Winnetka, Ill.). On the women's side there will also be 10 new faces in: Laura Hayes (Reno, Nev.), Emily Holt (Louisville, Ky.), Charlotte Kamai (Corte Madera, Calif.), Laura McCulloch (Durban, South Africa), Kendese Nangle (Kingston, Jamaica), Katie Papa (Califon, N.J.), Olivia Samson (Clifton Park, N.Y.), Koryn Ternes (Austin, Texas), Maddie Wall (St. Louis, Mo.) and Briana Williams (Cypress, Texas). Welcome to the squad!

Henn and Guardalabene Named Captains of the Women's Squad - Senior Isa Guardalabene (Albany, Calif.) and junior Erin Henn (Lawrenceville, N.J.) will serve as team captains for the women's team for the 2012-13 season.

Lannan Joins Squad as Assistant Coach - Ross Lannan begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Big Green. Lannan comes to Hanover after spending two seasons in the same capacity at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. Welcome aboard Coach Lannan!

Wilson Returns for 20th Season- Head Coach Jim Wilson is in his 20th season as head coach of the Dartmouth swimming and diving squads. Wilson, originally hired to coach the Dartmouth men, took over the women's team in 2006. Wilson also returns assistant coach Jenn Verser while Chris Hamilton returns as Dartmouth's diving coach. Ross Lannan begins his first season as an assistant coach.
