Dartmouth Swimming and Diving Named Scholar All-America Team

HANOVER, N.H.- The Dartmouth swimming and diving teams were announced as two of Division I's College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams on Tuesday (July 10). The Dartmouth men are ranked No. 4 and the Dartmouth women are ranked No. 22.

This is the second time this academic year the Big Green men and women have been recognized for their work in the classroom. In the winter term both squads also earned All-America status, with the men taking a No. 3 raking and the women checking in at No. 11.

The men's team is one of three Ivy League teams ranked in the top five. Yale takes the top spot with a 3.62 team grade-point average (GPA), while Harvard ranked No. 3 with a 3.54 GPA, just ahead of the Big Green men with a 3.48 mark. Eastern Illinois (3.55) is at No. 2, while Villanova rounds out the top five with a 3.37.

The women are also one of the top academic teams in Division I and are the top-ranked Ivy League team at No. 22 with a team GPA of 3.46. Columbia is the next ranked Ivy squad checking in at No. 29 with a 3.41 GPA. Clemson and Alabama share the top spot on the women's side with 3.62 GPA's followed by Northwestern (3.59) and East Carolina and Evansville (3.58).

The CSCAA Team Scholar All-American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
