Senior (2012-13): In his final year with the Big Green, Centenari was named second team All-Ivy in doubles for the second time in his collegiate career... Went 5-2 competing at No. 1 doubles in conference play... played primarily number 1 and 2, ranked 65 in singles going into the 2012 dual match season... Netted 10 wins in singles action and 17 in doubles play... Scored key victories in singles action against Cornell, Marquette and Boston College.
Junior (2011-12): In his third season on campus, Centenari competed in 32 singles matches and 28 doubles matches...In singles, Centenari picked up 17 wins, including Ivy League victories against No. 51 Brown and No. 73 Yale... In doubles action, he notched 15 wins and went 5-2 in Ivy play...Named captain for the 2012-13 season...
Sophomore (2010-11): Centenari led the Big Green in his second season at Dartmouth ... in 30 singles matches, he went 20-10, including a 4-3 mark in the Ivy League ... had two different four-match winning streaks ... competed at first and second singles ... in doubles, he went 20-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play with partner Michael Laser ... played the entire Ivy portion of the schedule at first doubles ... was named first team All-Ivy in doubles and second team All-Ivy in singles ... Centenari and Laser had an eight-match winning streak from January 29 through March 19 ... won the team's most improved and most valuable player award.
Freshman (2009-10): Played from the fourth to the sixth spot in singles play throughout his first season ... in the fall, went 3-1 with all three wins coming in straight sets ... won four straight matches to start the dual season ... one of those wins came at the No. 2 spot against Sacred Heart with a 6-4, 6-1 ... went 13-5 during the indoor and spring seasons ... earned five wins in Ivy League play, including three straight to close the season ... lost only two Ivy matches with two coming down to a third set ... played at the fifth and sixth spot in Ivy play.
Before Dartmouth: Four-year varsity letterwinner in tennis and captain his senior year at McDonogh School in Baltimore ... was a quarterfinalist in the Mike Agassi National Championship and made it to the round of 16 in the USTA National Men’s Open Ind. Championship in Flushing, NY. ... wins in the qualifying rounds of various Futures in 2008, Xander earned him a U.S men’s professional ranking of 287 ... as a freshman at McDonough, he was named All-Metro ... was all-metro and Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Player of the Year in his final season.
Personal: Alexander Christian Centenari was born October 14, 1989 ... son of Peter and Sherine Centenari ... has two sisters, Kristina and Gabrielle ... was president of the Honor Council, and on the Dean’s List ... has plans on being Pre-Med.
