HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth men's cross country team has spent its last three weeks running the familiar courses and routes around campus. Not because the Big Green have been regular hosts of meets in the Upper Valley, but because they have had nowhere else to go.

Since hosting the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club on Sept. 8, the Big Green have not had a scheduled meet, leaving them just the opportunity to train and continue to improve.

That long break ends on Friday when the Green and White finally return to the starting line in Bethlehem, Pa., for Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational.

The meet is broken down into three different sections: Gold, Brown and White. Dartmouth will run in the 8K Gold Race, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

At this meet last year, the team took eighth place in its assigned field of 45. Ethan Shaw '12 led the way that morning, taking eighth. Look for junior Will Geoghegan (Brunswick, Maine) to continue to fill the void left by Shaw's graduation as he did in winning the season-opening home meet in 24:43.53.

Senior Jonathan Gault (Bedford, Mass.) and junior John Bleday (Westwood, Mass.) will also look to play a role in the team's successes, building on their fifth- and 11th-place finishes, respectively, from the Dartmouth Invite.

The men's Gold Race will feature seven of the eight Ivy League teams competing with just the absence of Penn from the field.
