BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Senior Ethan Shaw (Falmouth, Maine) of the Dartmouth men's cross country team finished eighth Friday morning at the Paul Short Invitational. The annual meet hosted by Lehigh featured more than 130 teams from across the nation in three divisions.

Shaw paced the Big Green with his 24:19 in the Men's Gold 8K Race. His eighth-place showing helped Dartmouth to an eighth-place team finish with 264 points.

"Ethan ran an outstanding race today," Herbert Chase Head Coach Barry Harwick said. "We placed eighth in a field of 45 teams, so we did well in that regard. But, I know this team is capable of a better showing and we will try to be better next weekend."

Senior Brad Kenimer (Alexandria, Va.) was the second member of the Big Green to finish on this day, placing 49th in 25:12. Following soon after was sophomore Steve Mangan (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) in 56th with a time of 25:15.

Junior Adam Doherty (Langrangeville, N.Y.) and sophomore John Bleday (Westford, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Big Green as they placed 75th (25:23) and 76th (25:24), respectively.

Dartmouth also had two more runners in the top 100 as junior Jonathan Gault (Bedford, Mass.) and Phil Royer (Portsmouth, R.I.) were 80th (25:26) and 91st (25:30), respectively, Friday morning.

The Big Green will not have the long break they enjoyed leading up to Lehigh's annual race as they take to the course next Saturday, Oct. 8 at the New England Championships in Boston.
