HANOVER, N.H. - There has been a considerable break since the last time the Dartmouth men's cross country team took to the course. The Big Green last ran at the Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 10 in Hanover, but will now return to action Friday morning at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh.

The annual meet will feature roughly 130 teams competing in three different races. Dartmouth has been designated to run in the Gold Race that features all eight Ivy League schools.

In the team's only other meet this season, the Big Green posted a perfect 15-point score to take the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club. Senior Ethan Shaw (Falmouth, Maine) paced the team with a first-place finish in 21:59. Shaw has now taken the top spot in the annual home meet in each of the last two seasons.

Dartmouth will look for a good showing from Shaw on Friday in Bethlehem, Pa., but followers of the team should also expect to see strong showings from John Bleday (Westwood, Mass.), Jonathan Gault (Bedford, Mass.), Steven Mangan (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) and Adam Doherty (Lagrangeville, N.Y.). Each finished in the scoring in the first meet and will look to duplicate those performances against a much larger field of competitors this time out.

The men's Gold Race is set to get underway on the 8K course at 11 a.m.
