MADISON, Wis. - The Dartmouth men's cross country team faced off against the top competition in the country Friday afternoon at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational. The Big Green were hampered by a mid-race injury that played a role in the Big Green falling to 32nd with 732 points.
Junior Will Geoghegan and senior Jonathan Gault finished with identical times of 22:16 on the Zimmer Championship 8K Cross Country Course. Geohegan was credited with a 95th-place overall finish, while Gault earned 98th.
The final Dartmouth harrier to place in the scoring was freshman Curtis King. The first-year collegiate runner crossed the line in 24:57 to earn 246th.
It was junior John Bleday that was hampered by injury during the race and did not finish.
Stanford placed first overall in a field of 45 teams with 135 team points.
The Big Green will be back in action later this month as they take on the rest of the Ivy League at the 2012 Cross Country Heptagonal Championship Meet on Saturday, Oct. 27 in Princeton.
