HANOVER, N.H. - Friday afternoon is perhaps the toughest test of the season for the Dartmouth men's cross country team as it heads to Madison, Wis. Awaiting them in the Badger State are some of the most elite competition of cross country programs assembled all fall.

The Wisconsin adidas Invitational features some of the top teams from across the nation in one place for an 8K race on the Zimmer Championship Course, set to begin at 1:45 p.m. ET.

The Big Green make the trip westward after having won the 2012 New England Championship on Sunday afternoon at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. The newly-crowned champs will compete against six teams ranked in the most recent USTFCCCA national coaches' poll, including the top-ranked Badgers.

Other teams in the top-10 making the trip are No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 5 (tie) Iona, No. 5 Portland, No. 8 Stanford and No. 10 Syracuse. In all, 25 teams either ranked in the top-30 or receiving votes in the most recent release of national rankings will be in attendance on Friday.

Dartmouth is one of those teams receiving votes, picking up three last week.

Outside of the NCAA Championship, this is widely-viewed as the premier meet of the 2012 cross country season.
