Emerson Curry '08 is in his first season as the assistant coach for the Dartmouth lightweight crew team, also serving as head coach of the freshmen boats. He joined head coach Dan Roock's staff in August 2008.

Prior to his return to Dartmouth, Curry served as the second assistant coach for the Harvard lightweights, assisting in all facets of the program. He coached the third varsity boat at the Eastern Sprints, guiding them to a first place finish.  

Curry was a distinguished rower in his own right for the Big Green, serving as team captain in 2008, leading the varsity eight to the Eastern Sprints and Ivy League Championships.

He received numerous awards during his career, including earning All-Ivy honors in 2008 and induction into the Dartmouth Wearers of the Green. He was the recipient of the Thaddeus Seymor Rowing Award as the most valuable oarsman, making the greatest contribution to rowing at Dartmouth College. He also won the Louis C. Breer Cup for leadership and sportsmanship of the varsity lightweight crew and the Class of 1991 award for leadership, competence and friendship on and off the water.

After his collegiate career, Curry rowed with the high performance men's lightweight eight team at the Riverside Boat Club.

In addition to his duties with Dartmouth crew, Curry also serves as a coach for the Upper Valley Rowing Foundation.

Curry graduated from Dartmouth in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in anthropology. He is also a graduate of the Kent School, where he began is rowing career.
