Playing on the indoor tennis courts or the basketball courts, Dartmouth athletes find ways to heat up the New England winter. Sophomore Lakin Roland led the Big Green women's basketball team to their first road victory of the season. Senior Cameron Ghorbani and sophomore Brendan Tannenbaum teamed up for No. 1 doubles victories for the men's tennis team against Bryant and Villanova.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Lakin Roland (Jefferson, Ind.) So, F, Women's Basketball

Sophomore Lakin Roland led all scorers with 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds, serving as the driving force to propel the Dartmouth women's basketball team to its first road victory of the season, defeating NJIT, 48-45, on Saturday afternoon in Newark, N.J.  The power forward shot 7-of-11 from the floor and hit 3-of-4 from the charity stripe. On the defensive end, Roland had two steals, one block and one defensive charge. She was named to this week's Ivy League honor roll for her contribution.

Brendan Tannenbaum  (Indianapolis, Ind.), So., Men's Tennis
Cameron Ghorbani (Lexington, Mass.), Sr., Men's Tennis

Brendan Tannenbaum and Cameron Ghorbani opened the spring season with two dominant performances at No. 1 doubles against Bryant and Villanova. The tandem played a key role as the big Green scored a pair of 7-0 victories. The duo surrendered just three games in their two matches while helping the Big Green secure the double's point in both contests. In singles play, Ghorbani also won his match against Bryant in straight sets at No. 3.
