ELON, N.C. – The Dartmouth men’s tennis team wrapped up the North Carolina portion of its spring break trip with a 4-3 loss to Elon on Wednesday afternoon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

After winning three straight matches, the Big Green (6-3) have now lost back-to-back matches, while the Phoenix won their fifth straight.

With the match tied at three all, Elon’s Brian Kowalski pulled out the three-set victory against Dartmouth’s Brandon Debot at No. 5 singles to seal the victory. After taking the first set 6-3, DeBot dropped the next two 3-6, 4-6.

In doubles action, the duo of Cameron Ghorbani and Chris Kipouras picked up the lone point for the Big Green with a 9-8 (8-7) triumph against Juan Madrid and Jordan Kaufman at No. 3.

In singles action, the Big Green took three of the six matches. Ghorbani, Erik Nordahl and Brendan Tannenbaum each scored straight set victories.

The Big Green return to action on March 22, heading to Virginia to face Radford in non-conference action. The match is set to get underway at 5:30 p.m.
