RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The 67th-ranked Dartmouth men's tennis team started its spring break trip on Sunday with a 6-0 victory at California Riverside. The teams did not play the doubles matches with the threat of rain in the forecast. The Big Green swept the singles to improve to 11-1 on the season. The loss dropped the Highlanders to 3-11.

All six of the Dartmouth players won in straight sets. Senior Michael Laser (Glencoe, Ill.) defeated Felix Macherez, 6-3, 6-3, at first singles. In the second spot, junior Alex de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif.) also won 6-3, 6-3 over Jimmy Roberts. Freshman Chris Kipouras (San Ramon, Calif.) defeated Austin Andres at the third singles, 6-2, 6-4.

In the fourth spot, sophomore Brandon DeBot (Stevens Point, Wis.) bested Kelly Dickson, 6-1, 6-2. Senior Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.) topped Luis Gastao, 6-3, 6-1, at fifth singles. At sixth singles, freshman Sam Todd (Encinitas, Calif.) beat Simon Peters, 6-2, 6-4.

The Big Green next play Loyola on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
