HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men’s tennis team continued its dominant play at home on Friday, sweeping a doubleheader against Buffalo and Boston University at the Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion. The Big Green took the opener, 6-1, and shutout the Terriers, 7-0, in the finale.

Dartmouth (7-1) is now a perfect 6-0 in the Upper Valley, while Buffalo (2-1) lost its first match of the season and BU (1-4) was held without a point for the first time in 2014.

The Green and White swept the doubles points in each of the two matches, a feat which they’ve accomplished in all six home tilts this season.

Against the Bulls, the No. 1 Dartmouth duo of Cameron Ghorbani and Brendan Tannenbaum jumped out to a 5-0 lead before closing out the match with a 6-3 triumph. At No. 2, Dovydas Sakinis and Branden Tannenbaum outlasted their opponents for a 6-5 win. The tandem of Chris Kipouras and Diego Pedraza netted a 6-4 victory at No. 3.

In singles play versus Buffalo, the Green took five of the six matches to earn the w. Sakinis, Kipouras and Ghorbani all won in straight sets, while Tannenbaum and Pedraza each won three-set thrillers.

Versus the Terriers, Dartmouth was dominant in doubles, dropping just one game in the three matches. At No. 1 and No. 2, DeBot/Sakinas and Erik Nordahl/George Wall each held their opposition scoreless. At No. 3, Sam Todd and Max Schmidt coasted to a 6-1 win.

In singles action, the team from the Upper Valley won all six matches in straight sets.

The Big Green men return to action next weekend, Feb. 14-16, hosting the ECAC Men’s Indoor Championships.
