HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men’s tennis team won its fourth straight home match on Saturday afternoon, topping Radford, 5-2, in non-conference action at the Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion.
The Big Green (5-1) remain perfect at home in 2014 with the victory, while the Highlanders (0-2) dropped their second straight match versus an Ancient Eight opponent.
For the second consecutive match, Dartmouth swept doubles action. Through the first six games of the season, the team from the Upper Valley has secured the doubles point five times.
The duo of Dovydas Sakinis and Brandon DeBot cruised to a 6-2 victory at No. 2 and the tandem of Chris Kipouras and Diego Pedraza won their match, 6-3, at No. 3. At No. 1, Cameron Ghorbani and Brendan Tannenbaum were winning, 5-2, when play was haulted.
In singles action, DeBot, George Wall and Tannenbaum won their matches in straight sets at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6, respectively. The other player to earn a point for Dartmouth was Kipouras. The San Ramon, Calif., native netted a three-set come-from-behind win at No. 2.
The Big Green men return to action on Friday, Feb. 7, hosting Buffalo and Boston University. The tilt with the Bulls is slated to begin at 10 a.m. and the match with the Terriers gets underway at 5 p.m.
