NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Behind the play of Xander Centenari, who went 3-1, reaching the quarterfinals, the Dartmouth men's tennis team had a solid performance at the USTA/ITA Northeast Regionals over the weekend. Centenari defeated Penn's Ismael Lahlou, Harvard's Kelvin Lam and Columbia's Ashok Narayana before falling to Matija Pecotic of Princeton in the quarterfinals (6-3, 6-1).
Additionally, the doubles pairing of Centenari and Cameron Ghorbani reached the third round of doubles competition, going 2-1 in tournament action. The duo defeated teams from Lehigh and Brown before falling to Harvard, 8-2.
Overall, the Big Green compiled a 4-6 singles record with a 3-2 doubles mark.
Dartmouth returns to the courts Oct. 26-28 for the Harvard Halloween Classic.
