Senior James Pleat wrapped up his Dartmouth career on the links while sophomore Deirdre Lambert has most of her sailing career still ahead. Both had outstanding weeks for the Big Green.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Deirdre Lambert  (Cumberland, Maine)  So., Sailing

Dartmouth sailor Deirdre Lambert has been named the Dartmouthsports.com Female Athlete of the Week. Lambert anchored the a women's team that qualified for its second consecutive National Championship Race. For the second year in row, the team placed fourth in the women's semifinal. The Cumberland, Maine, native received recognition off the water this past week as well,  by the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association. Lambert was named Skipper of the Year and named first-team All-NEISA skipper after a stellar year at the helm for the Big Green.

James Pleat (Nashua, N.Y.), Sr. Golf

Senior golfer James Pleat capped an impressive career at Dartmouth with a fourth place finish at 2013 Ivy League Championship last weekend at the par-70 Caves Valley Golf Club. In his final tournament as a member of the Big Green, Pleat carded a 54-hole total of 218 (73-73-72) to earn first team All-Ivy honors for the first time in his career. His eight-over-par finish was five shots off the pace of eventual Greg Jarmas. Pleat competed in all five of Dartmouth's spring tournaments. The Nashua, N.H., native was the low scorer for the Big Green in two of those events. Pleat ended his tenure in Hanover shooting in the 70's in his final eight rounds.
