ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The Division I PING All-Region honorees for men’s golf have been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America and Dartmouth’s James Pleat was one of 155 players receiving recognition across six regions.
Pleat, a graduating senior, earned the regional distinction for the second straight season after an impressive top four finish at the Ivy League Championship. By tying for fourth place at the conference tournament, the Nashua, N.H., native received All-Ivy recognition for the first time.
Pleat’s strong finish marked the third consecutive season that the Big Green had a player receive first team All-Ivy accolades as the 2012-13 team captain followed in the footsteps of former teammate Peter Williamson.
In eight starts in the fall and spring, Pleat had a scoring average of 74.9 while notching a pair of top-ten finishes. In 21 rounds Pleat carded 76 or better 15 times.
His second best finish of the season came at the Century Intercollegiate in his penultimate tournament with Dartmouth. At the event, Pleat carded a two-round total of 153 (76-77) to earn a share of 10th place.
Pleat was also one of seven players in the Ivy League to earn Northeast All-Region honors.
