This week's athletes come from turf fields on the east side of campus. Softball's Morgan McCalmon and lacrosse player Jack McCormick are leading their respective teams. McCormick scored two goals and added two assists in a loss to Yale on Saturday. McCalmon hit .583 with two home runs and seven RPI in two games over the weekend.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week.

Each week, will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Morgan McCalmon, So., Norman, Okla., P/1B, Softball

Sophomore Morgan McCalmon retained the Ivy League Player of the Week award, after a monster weekend, hitting .583 with two home runs and seven RBI.  The sophomore reached base nine times in 15 at-bats and recorded a 2-0 record with a 0.60 ERA and had one save. Since the Big Green began Ivy league play two weeks ago, McCalmon’s bat has woken up to the tune of a .538 batting average with four home runs and 15 runs batted in over the eight-game winning streak. On the season, McCalmon is hitting .442 with five home runs and 17 RBI and has a record of 5-3 with a 2.86 ERA.

Jack McCormick, Fr.  Danville, Calif.,  A, Men's Lacrosse

Jack McCormick was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week by the league office Monday afternoon. The freshman from Danville, Calif., set career highs with two goals and two assists for four points in the Big Green's game against the Yale Bulldogs at home last Saturday. McCormick’s two goals and four points also matched the Big Green’s season-best output by an individual player in 2014 and helped Dartmouth pick up its first Rookie of the Week award since the 2009 season.
