Spring hasn't yet arrived in the Upper Valley but the spring teams traveled to warmer climes to start the season. Sophomores Duncan Robinson and Katie McEachern led the baseball and softball teams to strong starts to the spring. McEachern had two game-winning homeruns in California. Robinson earned both of the Big Green baseball team's wins in Kansas.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week.

Each week, will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Katie McEachern So., San Deigo, Calif., SS, Softball

Sophomore Katie McEachern led the Dartmouth softball team with eight runs batted in and had a pair of three-run homers as the team went 4-5 in nine games.  Both of her blasts were game-winners, as McEachern knocked a shot in the eighth-inning against San Diego and broke a scoreless tie against Bethune-Cookman en route to a 4-0 win. McEachern hit .300 in 30 at-bats and had three doubles.

Duncan Robinson, So. Houston, Texas,  RHP, Baseball

Dartmouth won two games during a trip to Kansas last week, and Robinson earned both of those victories on the mound. First, he made his second career start and hurled seven innings in a 10-3 triumph over Nebraska Omaha. He yielded just two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three, but he still trailed by a 2-1 score entering the seventh when the Big Green bats exploded for seven runs to blow open the game.

For the week, Robinson posted a 2-0 record and a 2.00 ERA, giving up a mere five hits in nine innings with four strikeouts.
