THIS WEEK IN DARTMOUTH SOFTBALL
The Dartmouth softball team will play nine games in five days as they complete a West Coast trip. All nine games will be played in Southern California, beginning with a single game at San Diego on Wednesday.

IT’S MILLER TIME
Sophomore Kelsey Miller was named Ivy League Co-Player of the Week, as the sophomore corner infielder belted a .471 batting average in five games with 17 at bats. She led the team with eight hits and six RBI. Miller had five extra base hits – three doubles, one triple and one home run – and was perfect on the base paths with three steals. Miller leads the Ivy League, hitting .449 on the season.
YO, HO, HO, AND A BOTTLE OF RUM
Rumley was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week, after finishing the week with a 2-1 record and posted a 1.75 earned run average. In three appearances, the southpaw struck out 21 batters in 16.0 innings with just two walks. In her first game of the week against Portland St., Rumley struck out eight batters en route to an 11-5 win and her third win of the season. Against Utah St., Rumley pitched a complete game but was dealt the loss after allowing two late runs to the Aggies. She finished the game with a season-best nine strikeouts. Rumley is 4-4 on the season with a 2.51 ERA and 55 strikeouts.
Dartmouth is 4-1 on its current California trip after picking up wins against Portland State (twice), Monmouth and UC Santa Barbara. The Big Green have outscored their five opponents 37-12 and scored more than eight runs twice.
Miller, Rumley and freshman Karen Chaw have dominated left-handed pitching this season. Miller is 4-for-7 with a .571 batting average and Rumley is 4-for-8 (.500). Chaw is 3-for-7 with a .429 batting average.
Dartmouth has found luck in the second, fifth and seventh innings this season, scoring over 10 runs total thus far.
RUNS = WINS
Dartmouth is 4-0 this season when scoring six or more runs. The team is also 4-1 when opponents score less than two runs.
NOW WALK IT OUT
Freshman Maddie Damore leads the Big Green with seven walks this season. She is also tied with Miller for the team lead with five doubles.
After completing its trip to sunny California, the Dartmouth softball team is scheduled to make its 2014 home debut against UMass Lowell on Mar. 25 at 4 p.m.
