NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Dartmouth scored 20 runs in a 10-1 and 10-8 eight-inning game vs. Yale on Saturday (April 21). The two wins extend the Big Green’s win streak to six straight after a four-game sweep of Brown last weekend.

Game One: Hubert Keys Big Green to 10-1 win (Dartmouth 10, Yale 1)

Dartmouth (20-17, 10-4 Ivy) used 13 hits, including four extra base hits to defeat Yale, 10-1, in the first game of the four-game series.  Hillary Hubert (Grant Park, Ill.) keyed the win with two home runs and went 3-of-4 from the plate.

The Big Green blew the game open with four runs in the seventh inning. Dartmouth rounded the bases on two errors and RBI singles from Katie Adams (Kent, Wash.) and Kelsey Miller (Mansfield, Texas)

The Big Green bats were hot as Dartmouth nailed four home runs in the win. Hubert stared it off in the first inning while Katie McEachern (San Diego, Calif.) added on in the fourth and Alex St. Romain (Chatham, N.J.) got in on the action in the fourth inning.

Kristen Rumley (Katy, Texas) picked up her 18th win of the season in the win. In six innings she fanned five and only gave up two hits with no walks.

Yale scored its only run in the sixth inning and only had two hits on the afternoon with three errors.

Game Two: Big Green Earn Win With Two Runs in Eighth Inning (Dartmouth 10, Yale 8)

Dartmouth came out on the right side of a 10-8, eight-inning game with Yale in the second game of a North Division twinbill.  Morgan McCalmon (Norman, Okla.) starred in the circle pitching seven innings with a career-high nine strikeouts.

Each team had hot bats as there were 18 total runs and 21 combined hits for the afternoon.

The Big Green jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning courtesy of a RBI single from Hubert that scored Rumley.

Yale matched the Big Green with a five-run first inning and from that point the team’s hitters went back-and-forth. The host Bulldogs took a 8-1 lead into the third inning but the Big Green battled back thanks to the play of Hubert and Megan Averitt (Alameda, Calif.). The duo combined for five hits and five RBI.

The Big Green battled back with three runs in the third inning. Hubert racked up four RBI on two hits with singles in the first and eight innings.

With the game tied after seven innings, the Big Green capped the rally with two runs on a two-run single from Hubert.
