Back In Action -
The Dartmouth softball team is back in action after taking the last week off from competition for exams. The Big Green will be participating in their third tournament of the spring at this week's USF Invitational. In fact, Dartmouth has played at this tournament each of the last four seasons and seven of the last nine seasons.

Going, Going Back, Back to Florida - The Dartmouth softball team is quite familiar with the state of Florida. The Big Green have traveled to the Sunshine State for spring break each of the last four seasons and will be returning to Florida for the second time this season after opening 2013 at the Stetson Hatter Classic at the end of February. Dartmouth even has its own tour guide as rookie Brianna Lohmann (Bell Glade, Fla.) hails from Florida.

Rumley Earns Ivy League Pitcher of the Week Accolades - Sophomore Kristen Rumley (Katy, Texas) picked up her first Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honor on March 4. She earned the honor after a win and a save at the Colonial Classic in Washington, D.C. two weeks ago. It was her second career Ivy League honor and she shared the award with Princeton's Shanna Christian.

Need A K? Rum's Has You Covered - Kristen Rumley (Katy, Texas) has started her sophomore campaign with a bang. Rumley entered the 2013 season with 151 career strikeouts, which placed her ninth on the Big Green's all-time strikeout list. Fast forward two weeks, and she already has 31 strikes and has moved into the top five all time with 182. She needs just 146 more to tie for the all-time lead.

Tight Games ... No Problem - Dartmouth has found itself in several close games this season. Three of the Big Green's eight games have been decided by a run and the Big Green has come out winners in each of the contests. Dartmouth has a pair of 3-2 wins over Bethune-Cookman and George Washington and a 2-1 win over George Washington. Last season, the Big Green played 11 games decided by one run and won just three of those games.

Rookies with the Big Bats - Freshmen Morgan McCalmon (Norman, Okla.) and Katie McEachern (San Diego, Calif.) have showcased that they have a long ball this season. The duo has combined for three of Dartmouth's home runs this season. McCalmon leads the way with two bombs on the year.

Hubert and Rumley Leading From the Plate - Captain Hillary Hubert (Grant Park, Ill.)  and Kristen Rumley (Katy, Texas) are leading the way for the Big Green from the plate. Hubert leads the squad with eight hits while Rumley has seven. As a team, Dartmouth has 49 hits on the season with 20 coming from the freshmen. Morgan McCalmon (Norman, Okla.) and Kelsey Miller (Mansfield, Texas) lead all freshmen with six hits each.  Talk about balance!

Hittin' The Road Again - The Big Green will return to Florida this weekend for its third and fourth tournaments of the season. Dartmouth will participate in the USF Invitational and the FAU Invitational while they are in the Sunshine state.

On The Road Again ... Part Deux - The Big Green, like most Northern schools, will spend a large chunk of its season on the road. Of the 50 games on the schedule, Dartmouth will play 36 games on the road, 26 coming in the form of non-conference competition. Dartmouth will once again take up residence in Florida, traveling to DeLand, Clearwater, and Boca Raton, for tournaments. In all, the Big Green will play 19 games in the Sunshine State between the USF Invitational and the FAU Invitational and non-conference games with Florida Gulf Coast, South Florida and Rutgers. The Big Green open the home slate on April 5 and will play seven home dates at the Dartmouth Softball Park.

Welcome to the Team - Dartmouth welcomes a six-member freshman class this season. The Big Green rookies hail from all over the country, with two players coming from the Texas. Donning the Green and White for the first time are: Kathy Dzienkowski (Austin, Texas), Alex Jarvis (Tustin, Calif.), Brianna Lohmann (Belle Glade, Fla.), Morgan McCalmon (Norman, Okla.), Katie McEachern (San Diego, Calif.) and Kelsey Miller (Mansfield, Texas). Welcome aboard!

Welcome to Dartmouth, Coach Hart - Assistant coach Ali Hart joins the Dartmouth softball staff this season. Hart hails from Atlanta, Ga., and was an All-American at Williams College where she graduated in 2012.
