HANOVER, N.H. – Sophomore Morgan McCalmon has secured her third Ivy League Player of the Week recognition this spring, as she aided the Big Green softball team to its second-consecutive North Division title after taking three-of-four games from Harvard over the weekend.
McCalmon hit .400 on the week with six hits, four RBI, one double and one home run. She finished with a .667 slugging and a .471 on-base percentage. McCalmon was also instrumental inside the circle, picking up a pair of wins with 19 strikeouts.
In her first start of the weekend, the Norman, Oklahoma, native struck out a career-best 13 hitters. McCalmon’s second circle appearance was one-inning of scoreless relief work in the third game of the Harvard series. The Dartmouth righty then won the decisive fourth game of the weekend to clinch the division crown.
The Big Green will host Penn this upcoming weekend in the best-of-three series, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic berth to the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
