HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth softball coach Rachel Hanson and the Dartmouth softball team announced the Class of 2016. Each of these players has turned in their intent to enroll cards and is looking forward to helping Dartmouth softball achieve higher heights in the future.

The six recruits hail from California, Florida, Texas and Oklahoma and each bring impressive softball credentials.

Head coach Rachel Hanson is excited to be adding student-athletes of this caliber to the returning players that Big Green will return next season.

"I think this class is a great mix of talent and the right mental makeup," said Hanson. "This is a hard working class and I'm excited to see their impact."

Kathy Dzienkowski
Austin, Texas/Westlake HS

Four-year letterwinner at Westlake HS ... Senior captain ... Led her prep squad to the Texas UIL 5A Region IV Quarterfinals as a freshman ... Team also took second and third place in the UIL District in 2009-10 and 2010-11 ... Participated in the ASA A 16U National and State tournaments ... Played at the ASA 18U Gold nationals ... Two-time Westlake HS Defensive Player of the Year ... Three time Texas UIL District 25-5A Academic All-District honoree ... Two-time Texas UIL District 25-5A First Team selection ... Member of the National Honor Society and National Charity League.

"Kathy's a dynamic player from the heart of Texas. What really stood out for us in the process of recruiting Kathy are all of the intangibles she possesses -- team first attitude, vocal leader, encouraging, and a hard worker on-and-off the field."

Morgan McCalmon
Norman, Okla./Mount St. Mary's

Four-year letterwinner at Mount St. Mary's ... Led her team to four district championships and two regional championships ... Pitched her team to the State Championship in 2010 ... Earned first team all-state and all-region honors as a senior ... McCalmon is also a three-time all-city selection ... Holds the Mount St. Mary's record for strikeouts (534) and wins (56) ... Has thrown 13 no-hitters during her prep career ... Member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

"We think Morgan is a bit of a steal for us.  She was being recruited by a couple of big- time programs, but due to her small school background, she overall didn't have a lot of recognition.  We think she'll be an impact player from the start."

Kathryn McEachern
Middle Infield
San Diego, Calif./Point Loma HS

Four-year letterwinner at Point Loma HS ... Her travel softball team won the 2011 Adidas Futures National Championship ... Earned Point Loma HS Freshman of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore ... During her junior campaign was Co-Player of the Year and Western League Player of the Year ... Earned First team All-Western League as a junior ... Four-time Union Tribune Scholar-Athlete award winner ... Earned the AP Scholar Award.

"Katie's a player that always finds a way to get it done. Our coaching staff kept remarking that every time we saw her play she got a hit or made a big defensive stop, and in some pretty high pressure situations.  We're looking forward to watching her take on the Ivy League."

Kelsey Miller
Middle Infield
Fort Worth, Texas/Mansfield Legacy HS

Four-year letterwinner at Mansfield HS ... Helped her prep squad to two Bi-District Championships (TX 8-4A) ... As a sophomore her team reached the semifinals of the regional championships ... Participated in the Premiere Nationals as a junior ... Her team enters the 2011-12 season ranked as the No. 13 team in Texas ... All-District honorable mention selection as a freshman ... Two-time first team All-District selection ... Three-time Academic All-District selection ... Also plays piano.

"Kelsey has a high-level swing and can play a lot of different positions quite well.  She is a true all-around athlete.  I think she hasn't come close to hitting her ceiling and I can't wait to see the level of play she can reach."

Alexandra Jarvis
Tustin, Calif./Foothill HS

Two-year letterwinner at Foothills HS ... Led her team to the championship of the JV Cypress and Magnolia tournaments as a sophomore ... Most Valuable Player of the Cypress, Magnolia and Roundtable tournaments in the Sea View League, Division I as a freshman ... Top JV Scholar during her freshman and sophomore campaigns ... Top Varsity Scholar as a junior ... Three-time International Baccalaureate top scholar and three-time honor roll selection ... Aspires to win American Idol.

"Alex is a high-energy player.  We really like the attitude and energy she consistently displays on the field.  She did well playing a high-level of travel ball. She's a player who makes everyone around her better. "

Brianna Lohmann
Bell Glade, Fla./Glades Day School

Two-sport athlete at Glades Day School earning four varsity letters in softball and soccer ... Four-time First Team All-Area selection from the Sun Sentinel and the Palm Beach Post in both softball and soccer ... Led Palm Beach County in batting average as a junior ... Member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and American Youth Soccer Organization.

"Brianna's an outfielder who really came on strong toward the end of the recruiting process.  I think she's just now beginning to come into her own as a player and I think we're going to see some great things from her in our program."
