HANOVER, N.H. - Freshman left-handed pitcher, Kristen Rumley (Katy, Texas) earned a spot on the College Sports Madness Ivy League All-Conference Team it was recently announced. Rumley was a first team selection and was one of three pitchers on the team.
Rumley completed one of the most outstanding freshman campaigns in recent history in 2012. She finished the season with 151 career strikeouts, which ranks second all-time on Dartmouth's single-season list. Her 151 strikeouts marks the first time since 2003 that a Big Green player has thrown over 100 strikeouts in a season.
Throughout the course of the season, Rumley twice threw 12 strikeouts in a game, one shy of the single season record set twice in 2000 and 2005.
The Texas, native, has also been in the national rankings. She is currently ranked No. 12 in the country with 9.1 strikeouts per seven innings. Her 0.97 walks per game is also 10th best in the country. She has twice been named Dartmouth Student-Athlete of the Week and was the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on March 27 for her play against Stetson and North Texas.
She also made an impact at the plate for the Big Green. She concluded the season as Dartmouth's top hitter with a .355 (22-of-62) average. The lefty also recorded 22 hits, with four doubled and one triple to go along with six RBIs.

The Dartmouth softball team concluded the 2012 season with a 14-25, 7-13 Ivy League record with wins over Ivy League rival, Harvard, as well as wins over non-conference foes, North Texas, Stetson, Hartford and Iona.
