BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Dartmouth men’s track & field team claimed second place at Saturday’s Catamount Open at the University of Vermont’s Livak Outdoor Complex Saturday afternoon.

The home team narrowly edged out the Big Green for the top spot in the standings, 78-76, with Williams (23) and Plattsburgh State  (20) rounding out the field.

Dartmouth was dominant in the sprints as Connor Reilly (10.61), Brett Buskey (11.03) and Jalil Bishop (11.28) took the top three spots in the 100m. Buskey continued that trend by then winning the 200m in 22.77, eclipsing the previous track record by nearly a second.

Jon Brady (23.27) and John Abraham (23.57) were second and fourth, respectively, in the 200m as well. Brady also took second in the 400m in 50.69.

The 5000m saw Big Green runners put on a show as Tony Anzivino led a trio of Dartmouth harriers with a first-place finish of 15:16.85. Will Callan (15:32.24) and Taylor Neely (15:39.34) were the next two finishers in the event.

Jacob Evanter took home the top spot in the 110m hurdles, crossing in 15.07, while Edward Wagner won the 400m hurdles in 54.61 to set another track record.

The 4x100m relay team took first in 42.03 with the 4x400m claiming second in 3:31.89.

The pole vault saw two members of the Big Green pick up points as Josh Cyphers (4.40m) and Brett Gilson (4.25m) were first and third, respectively. Jacob Neumann claimed first place in the discus with a measured toss of 47.53m. Both Cyphers’ height and Neumann’s distance set new facility standards in addition to earning five points for the Green’s total.

The team will be back in action next week as it travels to Brown on Saturday, April 13.
