The meet will host not only collegiate teams, but high schools, clubs and unattached individual runners from all across the country and the world over the course of three days.
Dartmouth will see several relay teams compete, including the women’s 4x400 meters (Thursday) and 4x1500 meters (Friday) as well as the men’s distance medley relay (Friday), 4x400 meters (Friday) and the 4x800 meters relay team (Saturday).
The women’s 4x1500 meters will compete in the Championship of America section, while the 4x400 is slated for the Heptagonal section against the other Ivies with the exception of Brown.
There will also be several members of the Big Green competing in individual events over the course of the weekend, including Megan Krumpoch (Shrewsbury, Mass.) in the women’s 400-meter hurdles, Jeremy Birck (Libertyville, Ill.) in the men’s high jump, Josh Cyphers (Grantham, N.H.) in the pole vault, and TJ Servino (Highland Mills, N.Y.) in the hammer throw.
Five Dartmouth women are also set to throw in the shot put.
This will be the first of two weekends in Philadelphia as the 2012 Heptagonal Championships will be back in the City of Brotherly Love next week as Penn hosts the Ivy League championships.
