Dartmouth Men Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The Dartmouth men’s track & field program was honored as one of the 2013 U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams.

The Big Green posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.31 this year, ranking 10th in the nation. Dartmouth was one of just 111 programs from across the country to earn All-Academic Team distinction and meeting the required 3.00 GPA necessary to appear on the list.

Helping the cause were five individuals who were also named 2013 USTFCCCA All-Academic selections.

John Bleday (3.47, Economics), Jonathan Gault (3.65, English), Brett Gilson (3.47, Environmental Studies), Phil Royer (3.33, Engineering) and Silas Talbot (3.49, Engineering) were all honored with spots on the All-Academic Team.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
