EUGENE, Ore. - Former Dartmouth harrier Ben True '08 came up just short in his bid to qualify for the Olympics, finishing sixth in the men's 5,000 meters at the US Trials Thursday night in 13:28.02.

The meet was held at Oregon's Historic Hayward Field.

True, running in his secondary event (primary being the 10,000 meters), qualified third for the finals, but improved his time from the semis by more than 14 seconds with a chance to represent his country on the line.

Galen Rupp (13:22.67), Bernard Lagat (13:22.82) and Lopez Lomong (13:24.47) will be the trio representing the USA in London in the 5K on the men's side.
