Before Dartmouth: Joe earned four letters in indoor and outdoor track, and three in cross country at Georgetown Preparatory School...Won NSIC Indoor National Championship in the 3200m relay...Individual champion in xc as a senior...Named to the All- Interstate Athletic Conference team seven times over his four years....Outside of athletics, Joe volunteered teaching English in Mexico.

Personal: Joe is the son of Stephen and Julie Chapin...He has two brothers...His father ran track at Navy 1981-83.
