Q & A with Brett
Why did you choose Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth because on the visit it was the worst weather ever, snowy and rainy, but I loved it, the people, the history, and the magic of Dartmouth. I felt at home immediately and I feel that no other place would be a better home for me now.
How long have you been competing in track and what got you interested?
I started track in 10th grade. I made a bet with my best friend. He bet that if i beat him in a race i would have to join track. I lost and I started track. I also like the fact that track is literally about running your heart out. I think that track athletes are some of the most athletic people (especially decathletes) and that track is about showing how much heart you have.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I dont feel that anything i do would come as a surprise to my teammates. They call me the "excitable child," but I think that they should know how much I care for all of them and our team. Track for me isn't just about the sport its about the people that become your best friends.
What are your future plans, if any?
I plan to major in Environmental Studies with a chemistry minor. I am also planning to do pre-med. I would like to be in a movie at some point and I would like to travel around the world because of one of my achievements.
What extra curricular activities are you involved in on campus?
I am in the Knights of Colombus which is a National Catholic Fraternity. I am MR. BIG GREEN!!!!
