PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Dartmouth women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Brown on Sunday afternoon to kick off Ivy League play.

The Bears scored the lone tally late in the contest as Kiersten Berg went around a Big Green defender and sent a shot past netminder Tatiana Saunders in the 77th minute.

The visitors pushed the tempo in the first half with shots on target from Emma Brush, Marina Moschitto, Lucielle Kozlov, Jackie Friedman and Holly Patterson.

Dartmouth finished the contest with a 16-12 edge in shots and pressured the Brown defense late in the contest trailing by a goal. The Green and White owned the corners in the contest, taking eight corner kicks to the Bears three.

Patterson led Dartmouth's last rush of the contest, but Brown’s second-half keeper MC Barrett stopped her shot.

Saunders finished the contest with seven saves and her counterparts Amber Bledsoe and Barrett made 10 saves combined.

Dartmouth falls to 3-4-1 on the season and 0-1 in league play. Brown moves up to 5-2 and 1-0 in the Ivy League.

The Big Green will return to action next Saturday when they host Princeton at 7 p.m. on Burnham Field.
