Cameron Joins Women's Soccer Staff

HANOVER, N.H. - Brittany Cameron, a former professional women's soccer player for the Los Angeles Sol, Bay Area FC Pride and the Western New York Flash, has been hired at Dartmouth College as an assistant coach it was announced by Dartmouth Athletics Director Harry Sheehy and women's soccer head coach Theresa Wagner Romagnolo.

"During her playing career, Brittany was most recently a goalkeeper for two Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) championship teams; playing with some of the best players in the game," said Romagnolo. "As she makes the transition to full time coaching, she will bring a competitive mentality, wealth of experience, and dynamic personality to the Big Green. We are excited and welcome her to Dartmouth!"

Cameron enters her tenure at Dartmouth after three years of professional experience with three clubs in the Women's Professional Soccer league. In her stints with the Western New York Flash and the FC Pride Gold, she won the WPSL Championship and was a finalist in 2009 with the LA Sol.

Cameron comes to Dartmouth after serving as an assistant coach at Niagara University during the 2011 season. She also has collegiate coaching experience at her alma mater, San Diego during the 2009 season as well as experience at the high school level serving as an assistant varsity coach and goalkeeper coach at Francis Parker High School from 2007-09

A goalkeeper by trade, Cameron earned the West Coast Conference (WCC) Defender of the Year as a senior, becoming only the second Torero to earn the distinction, while posting nine shutouts and a goals against average of 0.75. In 2007, she backstopped the Toreros to a program-best No. 9 ranking and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the second round in 2008.

An NSCAA All-West second-team selection and a first-team All-WCC selection as a senior, Cameron was named MVP and was also a two-time USD Defender of the Year.

Cameron owns a NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma.
