HANOVER, N.H.- The Dartmouth men's and women's soccer teams were both awarded the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award. The award honors teams with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
The Big Green is one of 157 teams that had both their men's and women's programs earn the award. The academic credentials used to determine award winners are based upon the team GPA from the 2010-11 academic year.
The Dartmouth men's team posted a 3.38 team GPA which ranks in the top -10 nationally for all Division I men's soccer programs while the women's soccer team posted a team GPA of 3.27 under the direction of first-year head coach Theresa Wagner. The men are ranked in the top-10 for the third consecutive season and the women earned the award for the ninth time.
A total of 789 soccer teams across all three Divisions earned the award with 218 men's teams being honored and 571 women's teams earning the honor. A complete list of teams can be viewed here.
