Libby Bassett joined the Dartmouth women's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach in August of 2011.

In 2011, Bassett worked primarily with the Big Green goalkeepers and helped tutor both freshman Tatiana Saunders and Colleen Hogan. Saunders posted a 1-9-0 record during her rookie campaign while Hogan went 3-3-0 with three shutouts.

Prior to her time at Dartmouth, Bassett spent the last two seasons at California as the goalkeeper coach, which involved planning and conducting daily goalie training. She was also the team's recruiting coordinator, camp director and organized team travel and meals. Bassett also served as the Seattle Sounders FC site camp director and coach.

During her time at Cal, Bassett played professionally in the Icelandic Premier League for Pepsi Deildin from May 2010 through July 2010. From October 2010 through January 2011 she was also a goalkeeping coach and evaluator for US Soccer, planning sessions and training the top youth goalkeepers for the US Soccer market training programs.

Before working at California, Bassett spent the 2008 season at St. Mary's as the goalkeeper coach and video analyst. In addition, she was also the team's travel coordinator, equipment manager and a camp director.

Her coaching career began in 2007 when she spent a year as an assistant coach with her alma mater, the University of San Diego. At USD, Bassett served as the goalie coach and coordinated and promoted successful USD summer soccer camps and clinics while supporting and monitoring the academic progress of the student-athletes. That team posted a school-best 15-3-3 record, which included an 11-game unbeaten streak.

A four-year letterwinner at San Diego, Bassett helped the Toreros advance to the NCAA Tournament in each of her four seasons. She was named USD MCP in 2004 and was also a West Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete, plus earned All-WCC honorable mention in 2003. Bassett attended a US Under-21 National Team training camp while playing at USD, and in 2003 and 2005, she trained with Italian Serie A teams, ACF Milan and Fiammamonza.

Bassett earned her master's degree in international cooperation and development from the University of Pavia, Istituto Universitario Degli Studi Superiori in Pavia, Italy, in 2007, before returning to her alma mater to begin her coaching career.
