HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women’s soccer team finished the 2013 season in style with a 4-1 victory over Cornell on Saturday afternoon at Burnham Field.

Senior Chrissy Lozier finished with two goals in her final contest as a member of the Big Green. Classmate Marina Moschitto also scored in her final appearance, netting the squad’s fourth and final goal of the day. Senior Emma Brush added to her point per-game streak with two helpers. Sophomore Corey Delaney netted her fifth tally of the year in the second half, contributing to the three-goal second half onslaught.

Junior keeper Tatiana Saunders made six saves in her 86 minutes in the cage, before allowing senior Sam Fearer to close the contest.

Dartmouth opened up the five-goal contest in the 8th minute of play off a pass from Delaney inside the 18-yard box to Lozier. The Big Red tied the contest in the 20th minute as Claire MacManus sent a pass to Dempsey Banks, who split the Dartmouth defense heading toward goal and sent a blast behind Saunders.

The hosts finished the opening half with a 6-4 lead in shots and took all four corner kicks.

In the second half, the Big Green exploded for three goals in a 25-minute span. Tied 1-1, the Big Green forced Cornell deep into the defensive zone and a one-timer pass from sophomore Lucielle Kozlov to Brush found Delaney standing in the goal mouth for the eventual game-winner.

Dartmouth added a pair of insurance markers in the final 20 minutes of play. After a defensive scramble inside the Cornell crease allowed Brush a first opportunity shot, Lozier stuffed in the rebound to give the team a 2-1 lead.

With five minutes remaining in the contest, Moschitto took a shot from 20 yards out that beat Kelsey Tierney, as the Big Green led 4-1.

The Big Green outshot Cornell, 13-7 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Prior to the game, eight members of the Class of 2014 were honored on the field as part of Senior Day ceremonies. Kelly Brait, Emma Brush, Caitlin Burke, Sam Fearer, Ari Kenyon, Chrissy Lozier, Marina Moschitto and Kim Rose were recognized for their contributions to the Dartmouth women’s soccer program.

Dartmouth ends the season with an 8-6-3 overall record and a 4-3 record in the Ancient 8.
