PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior guard Nicola Zimmer (Chevy Chase, Md.) earned All-Ivy League Honorable Mention accolades it was announced by the conference office on Thursday (March 14). Zimmer, who averaged 8.9 points per game, was Dartmouth's second-leading scorer.
Zimmer, a co-captain, started 25 games for the Big Green this season. Aside from her 8.9 points per game, Zimmer was Dartmouth's top three-point shooter, shooting at a .341 (29-of-85) clip, ranking her ninth among her Ivy League counterparts. The Big Green's primary ball handler, Zimmer dished out 42 assists this season and had 29 steals.
The Chevy Chase, Md., native scored in double figures in 10 games this season and had her best game of the season against Princeton where she scored a career-best 19 points in a close loss to the defending Ivy League champion. Zimmer also was named to the Blue Sky Classic All-Tournament team for her efforts in Dartmouth's games against Duquesne and Villanova.
In Ivy League action, Zimmer led the Big Green offense averaging 11.2 points per game and 3.3 rebounds, while drilling 15 triples against Ivy League foes.
For her career Zimmer has scored 486 points and has grabbed 217 rebounds and dished out 165 assists.
Princeton's Niveen Rasheed was named Player of the Year and teammate Lauren Polansky took home Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season. Harvard's Temi Fagbenle earned Rookie of the Year honors.
