HANOVER, N.H. - Cornell, who trailed 42-37, drilled two triples in the final 2:55 en route to a come-from-behind road victory over the Dartmouth women's basketball team on Tuesday (March 5) night.

Senior Faziah Steen (Detroit, Mich.) led the Dartmouth (6-20, 4-8 Ivy League) offense with a team-best 12 points, while Abbey Schmitt (Winnetka, Ill.) added 11.  Reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Week, Lakin Roland (Jeffersonville, Ind.) had 11 rebounds while Kamala Thompson (Selden, N.Y.) added 10 boards, giving both players back-to-back contests with double-figure rebounds.

Cornell (12-14, 4-8 Ivy League) opened the second half with a 8-2 run and took its first lead since the 9:47 mark of the first half with just four minutes off the clock.

Steen drilled a triple on Dartmouth's next possession to help the Big Green regain the lead, but Cornell went up 34-30 and was able to keep Dartmouth scoreless for nearly three minutes before buckets from Thompson and Schmitt gave the Big Green some energy and the lead, 36-34.

The score went back-and-forth before the Big Red got hot, especially from long range, and closed the game on a 16-3 run over the final 4:44.

Allyson DiMagno had a game-high 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead all scorers.

Cornell won the battle of the paint, 22-18, and also scored 20 points off Big Green giveaways. Dartmouth held a slim 42-40, rebounding edge, outrebounding its third opponent in the last six games.

Steen nailed a triple on Dartmouth's first possession of the contest to give the Big Green the early advantage, but the first half was characterized by the lack of scoring. At the first media timeout the teams had combined for six points.

The Big Red started to heat up and with a 8-0 run pulled ahead 11-3.  A fastbreak layup from Schmitt ended the run and sparked a 12-4 Dartmouth burst which tied the game, 15-15, midway through the half.

Schmitt gave the Big Green its first lead of the night at the 5:49 mark with a trifecta - her second of the season - as Dartmouth closed the half on a 10-4 run and took a 25-19 lead into the locker room.

Rebounding offense proved to be crucial in the first half. The Big Green pulled down 22 rebounds and posted seven second-chance points, while Cornell didn't convert any second chance opportunities.

Dartmouth will close out the 2012-13 season with one final road trip. The Big Green will take on Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y., on Friday at 7 p.m. and will close the season at Columbia on Saturday night.
