Getting to Know ... No. 23 Daisy Jordan
This fall DartmouthSports.com will be running a "Get to Know You Feature" with the freshman members of the Dartmouth women's basketball team. This week's question and answer session is with Daisy Jordan from Worcester, Mass.
Jordan comes to Dartmouth from the Tilton School where she led her team to back-to-back league championships (2010-12). During her junior season led the team to the Class C Championship with a 23-3 record. She earned NEPSAC first team All-Star accolades during her junior and senior seasons.
What made you want to come and play basketball at Dartmouth?
Jordan: I really wanted to come to Dartmouth because it seemed to have the perfect balance of challenging academics and competitive athletics. Dartmouth has the best of both worlds for a student-athlete.
What's one piece of advice you would give someone wanting to play at the
Division I level?
Jordan: Just be prepared. You will very busy between practices and schoolwork so be ready to juggle.
What team on the schedule are you looking forward to playing this season?
Jordan: I don't have a particular team in mind, but I'm just excited to surprise some people.
What's been your favorite moment as a member of the basketball team so far?
Jordan: My favorite moment so far was our team Spinning workout. It was pretty challenging, but by the end we were all encouraging each other and really came together as a team
What are you thinking of majoring in and why?
Jordan: I actually have no idea. I plan on taking a bunch of different classes to get a feel of what I'm really into so for now I'm still exploring my interests.
Why do you wear
Jordan: It's the number of a legend, of course.
Who is your role model and why?
Jordan: My biggest role models are my parents. They've been through a lot to get me where I am today and I envy their strength. They are my motivation.
