PRINCETON, N.J.- Dartmouth women's basketball player Milica Toskovic (Santa Monica, Calif.) has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for her performances against Cornell and Columbia. Toskovic earns the award for the second time this season after winning the award in January for her performance against Longwood.
Toskovic had a career night in Dartmouth's 87-52 win over Columbia. The Santa Monica, Calif., native picked up her second career double-double with 17 points and a career-high 13 rebounds against the Lions. Her 17 points also tied her career-high, which she set at Yale on Feb. 17. She also dished out a career-best four assists. In Dartmouth's win over Cornell, Toskovic contributed seven points and nine rebounds just one rebound shy of her third game with double-figure rebounds.
This season, Toskovic has started 18 contests and is averaging 7.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Her 7.7 points is third best on the team. After missing several games early with injury, Toskovic has been a staple in the Dartmouth offense. She is one of the Big Green's three-point threats shooting .295 percent (33-of-112) from long range. She is currently on a streak of eight consecutive games with a three-pointer made. Toskovic is also an important piece of the Big Green defense, grabbing at least one rebound in 23 of the 24 games she has seen action in this season.
Dartmouth closes out the 2011-12 season with a trip to rival, Harvard, on Tuesday (March 6). Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Harvard's Lavietes Pavilion.
