DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week - Steen & Robinson

The winter is winding down but things are heating up on the ice and the hardwood for two Big Green athletes, Faziah Steen and Eric Robinson are this week's DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week. Steen leads the women's basketball team in all offensive categories this season and is within 45 points of 1,000 for her career. Robinson had four points in a weekend split of Yale and Brown and leads the team in scoring with 21 points.  

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Faziah Steen (Detroit, Mich.), Jr., G, Women's Basketball

Faziah Steen earns Dartmouth Student-Athlete of the Week after a stellar junior season on the hardwood. The  junior captain, leads the Big Green in every offensive category and leads the team in scoring with 15.6 points per game, which is fourth among her Ivy League counterparts. This past weekend, Steen tallied 34 points in games against Yale and Brown. Her talents were on display in a win against the Bears, when she nailed the go-ahead tree-pointer with 0.48 seconds remaining in the contest to snap Dartmouth's four-game losing streak. Steen is also moving up the Big Green all-time scoring list. She currently ranks No. 18 with 955 career points and is 45 points shy of her 1,000th point, which would make her Dartmouth's 16th 1,000-point scorer. For her efforts last week, she was also named to the Ivy League honor roll, her seventh time on the honor roll this season.  

 

Eric Robinson (Foxboro, Mass.), So, RW, Men's Men's Hockey

Robinson earns the first DartmouthSports.com Male Athlete of the Week honor after a four-point weekend at Yale and Brown. Assisting on a third-period goal at Yale, the sophomore winger followed up with a career-high three points at Brown Saturday. He started the night for the Big Green with two goals in the first 10 minutes and finished by assisting on Doug Jones' third-period marker to seal the win, 4-1. Prior to the game against the Bears, Robinson had scored two times in a game on one occasion in his career, a Nov. 27 game at Vermont earlier this year. After three goals and eight assists for 11 points as a freshman, Robinson now leads the team in scoring with 21 points on 12 goals  and nine assists in his sophomore campaign.

Former Athletes of the Week
