HANOVER, N.H. –– Dartmouth women’s basketball head coach Belle Koclanes is thrilled to announce her first recruiting class of five student-athletes who will join the program in the fall of 2014.
Kate Letkewicz, Amber Mixon, Andi Norman, Emily Slagle and Olivia Smith, all have the drive and competitive pedigree to make an immediate impact on the program.

A complete alphabetical breakdown of the Class of 2018 is as follows:
Kate Letkewicz, Guard, 6-0
Waterloo, Iowa/Waterloo West
Koclanes on Letkewicz: From Iowa to Hanover, Kate brings a tireless work ethic, fundamental skill set and defensive intensity to the basketball court. She has great focus and determination to excel in every aspect of her game. We are also excited to have Kate’s three-point shooting ability in the program. As a teammate she leads by example and will raise the level of play as soon as she sets foot in the gym.
The Letkewicz Profile: 2014 McDonald’s High School All-American Nominee, three-time All-Conference.
Amber Mixon, Guard, 5-6
Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park
Koclanes on Mixon: The first word that comes to mind when I think of Amber is defense! Her speed, reflexes and aggressive style of play will elevate our defensive game in a heartbeat. Amber brings awesome energy to the floor and loves to play fast. She is truly passionate about the game and it shows in her enthusiastic attitude. She challenges her teammates to compete every drill of every practice and has fun leading the charge.
The Mixon Profile: 2014 McDonald’s High School All-American Nominee, First-Team AAA Cardinal District All-Conference, all-time leader in steals at Forest Park.
Andi Norman, Forward, 6-0

Koclanes on Norman: Andi comes to us after four years of experience in one of the most competitive districts in Ohio. She knows what it takes to compete at a high level and is eager for the challenge that awaits her here in Hanover. Andi brings a solid skill set to the floor that includes smooth shooting range, great court awareness and passing abilities. She is also an outstanding teammate and encourages others to succeed.

Koclanes on Slagle: Slagle is the glue of this class. She does all the little things well and is relentless. She outworks her opponents every possession no matter the time, score or place. With a strong offensive skill set, she can score, rebound and run the floor. On the defensive end, she’ll be the first to step in and take a charge or hit the deck after a loose ball.

Her versatile abilities at 6-2 are impressive and have led her high school team to their third-straight state championship. We look forward to having her size, length and athleticism on both ends of the floor. Olivia’s positive attitude and team-first mind set will also immediately impact our program.
