HANOVER, N.H. – Princeton shot 60% from the field and finished with four players in double figures as the Tigers defeated the Dartmouth women’s basketball team 87-46 on Friday evening at Leede Arena. Princeton is now 16-6 overall and 7-1 in the Ivy. Dartmouth falls to 3-20 and 0-9 in league play.

Annie Tarakchian led all scorers with 14 points off the bench for the Tigers. Kristen Helmstetter added 13 and Blake Dietrick had 12 for the Tigers.

Sophomore Lakin Roland led Dartmouth with 12 points, and junior Abbey Schmitt had 11.  The Big Green shot 38 percent from the field and was stymied offensively for a majority of the game.

The Big Green trailed 39-21 at the break before the Tigers outscored them 48-25 in the final stanza. Princeton outrebounded the Big Green 39-20.

Dartmouth held early leads of 2-0 and 4-2 before the Tigers jumped out to a double-digit lead, 20-10, on a free throw by Vanessa Smith. The Tigers gradually increased the advantage throughout the half and into the second and took its largest margin of 44 with 5:29 remaining.

Senior Nicola Zimmer contributed eight points, and sophomore Kaitana Martinez scored seven off the bench. Collectively Dartmouth connected on 18 field goals and nine free throws.

Taylor Williams was the fourth Tiger to score double figures, as the team saw all 12 players contribute with points. The Tigers also saw 11 of the 12 players collect a rebound and nine were credited with assists.

Dartmouth will return to action tomorrow when the meet Penn at 7 pm.
