Getting to Know ... No. 4 Jordyn Turner

This fall DartmouthSports.com will be running a "Get to Know You Feature" with the freshman members of the Dartmouth women's basketball team. This week's question and answer session is with guard Jordyn Turner from Plymouth Meeting, Pa.

Turner joins the Big Green after leading The Shipley School to the 2011-12 Pennsylvania Independent School state championship. A two-time captain she led her squad to back-to-back undefeated league slates and three Friend's league championships. Turner was a three-time first team All-Friends League selection and All-Main honoree.

DartmouthSports.com: Why did you choose Dartmouth?
Turner:
I fell in love with Dartmouth as an institution during Dimensions; the work hard-play hard balance, the great faculty, the beautiful campus, the boundless opportunities, and the overall feel of the school were big factors.  Meeting the staff and playing with the team made me positive that I wanted to come here.

DartmouthSports.com: If any celebrity could play you in the movie of your life, who would it be and why?
Turner:
Sanaa Lathan because Love and Basketball is one of my all-time favorite movies and she's one of my favorite actresses.

DartmouthSports.com: What is one road trip you are excited about this season?
Turner:
The one to Miami! I've never been there.

DartmouthSports.com: Which one of your teammates makes you laugh the most?
Turner:
Kamala(Thompson). She could say just about anything and make me laugh.

DartmouthSports.com: What is your pregame routine?
Turner:
I don't really have a set routine, but I listen to some of my favorite pump-up songs, envision myself achieving whatever goals I've set for that game, and just mentally prepare myself to get the job done on the court.

DartmouthSports.com: What's one things you want to get better at this season?
Turner:
My body control. Everything in basketball stems from how well you can control your motions.

DartmouthSports.com: What is your favorite sport besides basketball?
Turner:
Football! My dad played and coaches  and it's the sport I grew up watching.

DartmouthSports.com: What's your favorite vacation spot?
Turner:
The Turks & Caicos Islands
