Each week during the summer months, DartmouthSports.com will be running a segment on the women's basketball page called Tuesday Women's Basketball Trivia. We'll ask each player one question a week and you can learn the inside scoop on the women's basketball team. Happy Reading!

When did you first start playing basketball and what made you want to play?

Tia Dawson (Sophomore): I first started playing basketball in 3rd grade. My older brother was into Michael Jordan so my parents bought him a mini Michael Jordan basketball hoop that I would play on a lot. My parents noticed this and put me on a team. I haven't stopped since.

Faziah Steen (Senior): I started playing when I was five. My stepdad played college basketball in the Mid American Conference and came from a basketball/sports family so he got me going pretty early.

Abbey Schmitt (Sophomore): I started playing basketball when I was in first grade.  My dad, who played basketball at Princeton, signed me up for a local kids' league to introduce me to the sport.

Kamala Thompson (Sophomore): I've played as long as I can remember! I grew up with three older brothers and they introduced it to me.

Milica Toskovic (Sophomore): I have been playing for as long as I can remember. All my brothers played it before me. It was always something we did together so it seemed right for me to play as well.

Nicola Zimmer (Junior): I started playing when I was five. My parents said I just took to it at a young age.

Eve Zelinger (Junior): I started playing basketball in second grade, when I moved from Washington D.C. to California. I'm pretty sure my mom signed me up because soccer was over and she needed some activity for me to release my energy. I was tall so that helped (I could miss and get my own rebound several times:) but I remember loving it and haven't stopped playing since.
