HANOVER, N.H. — Senior Amber Bryant (Libertyville, Ill.) was named to the Capital One Academic All-District I Division I Volleyball Team on Thursday as voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bryant is one of three Ivy Leaguers named to an all-district squad this year.
Bryant is an engineering major with a 3.58 cumulative grade point average. The libero leads the Big Green in digs this season with 398 and is eighth in the conference in digs per set at 4.47. The co-captain recently set the program's all-time dig's record and now has 1,522 in her career. She is the only player ever at Dartmouth to eclipse the 1,500 mark.
She also holds the single-season dig's record (485) and single-match dig's record (40). In her career, Bryant has exemplified durability, playing in 356 sets, which is the most by any player on the Dartmouth squad.
To be considered for inclusion on one of the academic all-district teams, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or older, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and participate in at least 50 percent of the team’s games as a starter or key reserve. Bryant now goes onto the national ballot for Academic All-America honors with the first-teamers from the eight districts around the country. The Academic All-America teams will be announced later this month.
