LEXINGTON, Ky. – Earlier this week, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced that Dartmouth was one of 130 Division I teams to earn the AVCA Academic Award for the 2012-13 season.

The Big Green were honored for their work in the classroom for the second straight season, joining Ivy League members Brown, Harvard and Yale on the list.

The award, which was began in 1992-93, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.30 or better on a 4.0 scale.

This past season, NCAA Division I recorded its highest-ever total number of recipients. In the 20-year history of the award, over 1,000 different schools have received recognition.
