PRINCETON, N.J. – For the second time this season, Dartmouth freshman Emily Astarita earned conference honors as she was named the Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Astarita shared the honor with Cornell’s Sarah Kramer while Kendall Polan of Yale was tabbed Player of the Week.

Last week, the Setauket, N.Y., native continued her strong play in conference action, registering a match-high 17 kills as Dartmouth topped Harvard, 3-2, on Friday. The outside hitter also played a key role defensively for the Big Green with seven digs and a pair of blocks.

Astarita has led the Green and White in kills in three straight contests, averaging over 15 kills per match. She has registered double-digit kill totals in nine games this season, including four of the last five games.

Astarita first received recognition the week of Sept. 24, when she shared the accolade with Harvard’s Grace Weghorst. The highly touted Dartmouth freshmen have now been honored three times by the league office as Molly Kornfeind was named Rookie of the Week on Oct. 15.

The Big Green return to the court this weekend, Nov. 1-2, hosting defending conference champion Yale and Brown. The tilt with the Bulldogs is set for Friday at 7 p.m. and the contest with the Bears is slated for Saturday at 5 p.m
