HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth volleyball team and head coach Erin Lindsey have added another member to the class of 2017 as Emily Astarita is the newest member of the Big Green.

The Setauket, N.Y., native has turned in her intent-to-enroll cards and looks forward to becoming a part of Dartmouth volleyball. Astarita was a four year, two-sport varsity athlete at Ward Melville starring on both the Volleyball and Track and Field squads.

The accolades abounded during her high school career as Astarita was a three time All Conference performer as she led her team to four consecutive AA League championships. During her senior season, Astarita was named the Suffolk County Player of the Year, All State AA Tournament Team, first team All State and All County Tournament Team MVP.

“We are excited to add Emily to our 2017 class of volleyball student-athletes. She is an extremely talented athlete and a big leaper,” Lindsey said. “We think Emily will make an immediate impact in our gym with her powerful attacking and big blocking presence. Like our other incoming '17s she has championship experience and knows what it takes to win.”

Astarita joins six other members of the incoming freshman class as the Big Green continue to improve and move up the Ivy League standings.
